Irrigation Update #4

Posted on: 15 April

Hi Members

Irrigation update # 4 – Hole closures to commence on 22nd April

The first hole closures for the irrigation project will be from Monday 22nd April. Holes 13, 14 and 18 will be out of play and two temporary holes on 6 and 11 in play. All holes will be open again from 25th April (Anzac day) through to Sunday 28th April inclusive. Hole closures will resume again on Monday 29th April.

Some pipework will be positioned in the rough on the impacted holes from Wednesday 17th April. The holes will remain in play until trenching works start on Monday 22nd April.

Temporary courses have been configured and rated by Golf Australia to allow scores to be submitted and handicaps adjusted. The hole indexes have changed as a result of the temporary course setup. Players will be able to use their MiScore Phone app and printed score cards will be available for those who need them.

As there will only be 17 holes in play, all players will receive a nett par score on the “18th hole” to enable a competition score to be counted.

Play will be from the White Tees for men and the Red Tees for women. Players will not be able select other coloured tees as those courses have not been rated and set-up.

Play will commence from hole 1. After finishing the 12th, players are to make their way to the 15th tee to play the remaining 3 holes. Directions on how to safely reach the 15th and return from the 17th will be provided on the day of the outage.

All earthworks & pipework is to be treated as an Abnormal Ground Condition from which free relief may be taken. It is not necessary for there to be a local rule to cover this scenario.

The standard course will be available for play on the weekends – temporary greens will not be in play. Players will be able to select which tees they play off on the weekend (Blue, White, Red, Yellow).

The second group of holes to be out of play will be the 15th, 16th and 17th. Further updates will be provided on the portal and in the notes section of the Fixtures as holes go out of play.

Some stats for the inquisitive – The project will install:

· 716 sprinklers

· 296 control valves

· 8km of main line pipe

· 10.5km of lateral pipes to tees, fairways and greens.

Best Regards
