A Must Read – Golf Ops Update

What a weekend – the ability to reintroduce Competition play was sprung on us late Friday with Matt and his team able to implement for Saturday, and yesterday we get the news that our Metro members can re-join us from 6pm Friday 29th October. I’m out to buy a Tatts ticket!

Some reminders and conditions around the Club:

  • Can be played in groups of 4
  • There is no limit on the number of people who can participate in golf
  • Competition Fee is still $10.00 (inc Ball Comp)
  • Flagsticks may be removed
  • Noodles are out of holes (just a little stretch further to pluck your ball out!)
  • Rakes are in bunkers
  • Preferred Lies are presently in force (hopefully some nice weather in the next few weeks will allow us to remove)
  • Vaccination status on the course or in the Pro Shop is presently not a consideration, however as a hospitality venue the Clubhouse is accessible to fully vaccinated persons (16 years and over) only (refer Jacqui’s most recent update regarding COVID Safe Plan)

It has been noted over the last months that a number of golfers (whether they be Green Fee players or Members) are not raking bunkers, repairing pitch marks or filling divots. The rakes have been returned to the bunkers for a number of months and we ask all players to rake the bunker as you leave it. When raking the bunker, you should rake where you have played your shot(s) from and all footprints made while entering and exiting the bunker. There is nothing more frustrating and annoying than landing in someone’s footprint (remember we don’t have the luxury of preferred lies in the bunkers anymore).

To help reacquaint Members who haven’t seen each other over the past few months I extend an invitation to our 5 and 6 Day Members to join us for golf over this coming weekend (30/31 October). If you wish to participate please email me with the day and preferred time and I will put you in the field (subject to availability).

How ever you plan to enjoy the relaxation of restrictions please stay safe and I hope to see you at the Club soon!
