2021 Melbourne Cup Day

Is it about the Golf, or is it about the Race? This is one of the questions we pondered when deciding how the first Tuesday in November would look this year (and that was before we knew that Competition and our Metro friends would be back!)

We think we can deliver on both counts, albeit with some changes to our traditional format. Please read on for the detail:

Format:                                  Open 4BBB Stableford           (no change here)

Tee Times:                             Two Tee Start from 7:00am (ie. Saturday timesheet). This is to ensure as many golfers as possible get a round of golf in at (hopefully) a time that suits

Timesheet:                             Will open to Members ONLY at 4:00pm on Tuesday 26/10. This is to allow our Members the opportunity to select their preferred tee time ahead of Guests and Social Players. We will review the timesheet once our Members have had a reasonable amount of time to enter and then open it up to all

Entry Fee:                              Payable in the Pro Shop before your round

Members AM & PM $10 (inc Ball Comp) per person

Member Guests (AM) are welcome at $40 inc Comp Member Guests (PM) are welcome at $30 inc Comp (subject to availability, must have a current GA Handicap)

Prizes:                                    Will be awarded for both AM and PM fields

Cup Viewing:                         In addition to the existing televisions, a Projector will be set up in the Clubhouse

Food and Beverage:             Available for purchase at your own expense.

Please note that a limited menu (Fish & Chips, Schntizel, Parma, Burger, Pie of the Day, Calamari, Prawn Linguine along with Toasties, H&C Croissants, Fresh Sandwiches, Beef Pies, Bowls of Chips and Bowls of wedges) will be available as the GGE Team are transitioning to a new Menu from the following Thursday

Kitchen will close at approximately 5:00pm

Friends and Family:              Are encouraged to join us for the afternoon

Sweeps:                                 Will be available at the Bar to purchase and will be paid out after Correct Weight is declared

Vaccination Status:              Not relevant in Pro Shop or on Course

                                                Double Vaccination certificate required for Food and Beverage service
