We had a cloudy start to Wednesday’s Stableford competition. The forecast was hot, hot, hot, luckily the clouds stayed overhead early in our rounds, so the forecast heat arrived later in the day. 

There were 32 entrants in the 18-hole Competition.

The 9 Hole Competition was won by Lorraine Barrow. 

RESULTS

Winner of the day and B Grade Winner was Helen Flentje with a score of 38.

B Grade runner-up was Jenny Buttigieg score 38.

 A Grade Winner was Marg Ivory score of 34.

A Grade runner-up was Kathy Richards score of 34.

 C Grade Winner was Cheryl Blanchard score of 35.

C Grade runner-up was Ruth Wilkinson score of 34.

Gisborne Challenge Bowl.

On Monday we held a very successful Bowl sponsored once again by the Gisborne Car Wash.

There were 57 players (19 teams), on the course.

All teams entered using the TryBooking system.

The course was in excellent condition.

Our fabulous members provided a dessert and slice array that was mouthwatering.

Thanks Gudrun and Linda for the pretty tables and flowers. Committee also organised raffle prizes, and The View team provided heaped trays of delicious sandwiches. The Pro Shop assisted with prizes of sleeves of balls.

We are very grateful for all the support from our club members, club administration and the grounds staff.

We received many complements.

3rd:  Medway – 88 Points.

Members out and About – more Results

Two teams went to Midlands Golf Club Bowl on Monday.

Louise Ball won C Grade with 38 points.

The team of Louise Ball, Jenny McSwain, and Karen Dillon had a total of 105 points but came second to Buninyong GC with 109 points.

The Gisborne team of Lynne Smith, Denise Dunn and Karyn Sanders came fourth with 97 points.

The girls had a very enjoyable day.

Sheets of raffle tickets with 20 chances will be available for $10 a sheet.

We will be competing on Gala Day for the famous Dinghy Dunk on the 16^th Hole.

The prize for landing your ball in the Dinghy will be $100 !

If you have any old golf balls to donate please bring them to the locker room before the 6^th.

“…and pass on our appreciation for the women’s generous donation to the ground staff and volunteers after Wednesday morning.   Most golfers have no idea what goes on before they tee off and would be staggered by the daily clean-up we do with just the animal droppings on greens etc.  let alone after most storms.  

It’s really nice to feel the appreciation from the women golfers so please pass on our thanks and we will be enjoying a lovely lunch soon. “
