Tree Renewal Program

TREE RENEWAL PROGRAM

A few months ago, we wrote about long time member Neil Tonkin’s generosity in providing an initial sum of $5,000 to create a fund for the sole purpose of replacing mature gum trees where they have been lost and planting suitable colourful trees to enhance the course environment.

It’s been named the Tree Renewal Program which will rely on a quarantined fund to support this worthwhile project well into the future.

Members were and are still encouraged to support the program.  A fundraising account has been set up on the Australia Sports Foundation website with the aim of raising an additional $5,000 to provide a starting pool of $10,000.

Since November, there has been a terrific response – raising $3,624.50.   And thanks to those members who have donated both large and small amounts.  So, we still have a little way to go to achieve the starting pool.

You don’t have to dig deep.  Any amount is welcome – and is tax deductible.

We have some amazing trees in our golfing environment and others that have not done so well.  To be part of the renewal project, the link below will take you to a place where you can feel good just by donating!
