Irrigation Update #5

Posted on: 4 May

Hi Members

Irrigation update # 5 – Hole closures from Monday 6th May

After a slow start, the contractors started trenching and laying the main line on Tuesday 30th. It was a hive of activity and the main line is essentially in place on holes 14, 13 & 18.

Lee and his team have been kept busy cutting the turf away from certain areas where the main line will be run. This turf will be re-instated after the trench work is complete.

It has been intriguing to see the process of taking the lengths of main line and poly welding the pipes together ready for the long length of pipe to be dropped into the trenches.

Water has been restored to the bubblers and toilets on the front 9.

As of Monday 6th May, holes 15,16 & 17 will be out of play

The pace of work is such that at the change over to the next group of holes may result in an additional or different hole groups being out of play. Updates will be placed in the Notes section of the booking page. Please be patient during these first 5 weeks. This will be the most disruptive phase.

A reminder:

All earthworks & pipework is to be treated as an Abnormal Ground Condition from which free relief may be taken. It is not necessary for there to be a local rule to cover this scenario.

All holes will be back in play for Saturday and Sunday.

Best Regards

Alastair Boustead
