Round 1 of the Gisborne Gazette GREAT Trophy

Wednesday was a beautiful day out on the course, some sunshine, hardly a breath of wind … perfect winter golf conditions.
34 entrants were competing in Round 1 of the Gisborne Gazette GREAT Trophy. (Stableford).
Rules;
The Gisborne Gazette GREAT Trophy Event is played over 3 weeks, and the winner is determined by the total of her 2 best scores.
Competitors do not have to be available to play the 3 weeks of the competition but to be eligible to win you must play at least 2 weeks.
Round 2, July 13 Round 3 July 27.
Results
Winner of Round 1 and B Grade winner was Jacqui Nelson who blitzed the field with a terrific score of 38.
B Grade Runner up Margaret Barker 33.
A Grade Winner Kathy Richards scored 34, and A Grade runner up Virginia Dalton scored 30.
C Grade Winner was Maryanne Mocnik who scored 31, and Runner up Wendy Ralph scored 29.

After the golf there were birthday celebrations accompanied by bubbles and cake.
Gudrun and Barb Grbac share birthdays on Thursday 23rd and it was also Sharon Kemp’s actual birthday on Wednesday.

We “farewelled” member Carmel Cribbes on Wednesday. See pic below.
Not goodbye but au revoir.
Carmel and her husband have bought a house in Castlemaine and, whilst Carmel’s membership doesn’t expire until September, they are heading north for sunshine and winter warmth.
We will miss her cheery smile and friendship dearly, but Carmel assures us she will be back for special events.
We wish them well as they build their new life in Castlemaine closer to family.
We have received appreciation from Judy Silver for all our well wishes during her recent hospitalisation.
