GOLF OPS UPDATE – JUNE 18

RAY KEANE 4BBB KNOCKOUT – FINAL

He’s done it again. Phil Tsamados (aka The Other Bloke) has earned more gold letters after teaming up with Mark Belcher to win the Final of this prestigious event. The pair defeated Shauldon Huisman and Chris Fellows 5/3. Must have been good golf as I’m told it took a birdie by Mark on 15 to win the match.

HOLE IN ONE TODAY – GARRETH HANDKE

A fantastic shot on the 2nd that landed past the hole and spun back in – so the pitch mark told him. Garreth unfortunately didn’t see the ball go in so looked over the back of the green before checking the hole. Well done Garreth!

ONE TEE STARTS FOR MONTHS OF JULY AND AUGUST

To capitalise on what is often the best part of the day we have introduced a One Tee Start on Saturdays for the next two months.

In addition to times either side, we can now tee off between 8:52am and 11:00am. If you’re usually a morning golfer, you might like a little sleep in and avoid having to kick the dew off the grass. Afternoon golfers can tee off earlier to avoid the late afternoon chills.

Over the course of the day this provides players with an increase in tee time availability.

We are doing this as a trial and welcome your feedback.

SATURDAYS – MONEY HOLE

Money Hole is coming to Saturdays with the holes being rotated. Enter in the Pro Shop ($1) for your chance to win the pool (credited to your Pro Shop account).  The exisiting nearest the pins will remain.

ETTIQUETTE AROUND THE COURSE

In no particular order please remember to:

  • keep up with the group in front. If you’re finding yourself falling behind – have the first two players that putt out move to the next tee to keep things moving. Not everyone needs to wait for the last person to putt out! If that still doesn’t work let the group behind you through
  • fill your divots (and any extras you come across), regardless of where they are on the course. How would you like to have to play out of this?! (created last Saturday morning…..)
  • repair pitch marks
  • if you have to move an NTP marker out of your way please place a ball marker in it’s spot. You should then remember to replace the marker after you’ve putted. Please don’t scratch the greens

STRAW POLL

We’re interested in your feedback regarding NTP markers. What’s your preference – our existing ball on a stick or a flat marker such as this image? Let me know – captain@gisbornegolf.com.au

Want to get involved in making our events so much more than ‘just’ the golf? Please drop me a note on captain@gisbornegolf.com.au or call 0400 504 505 to have a chat!
