All members would have to agree that the volunteers led by Ron Albany are doing a great job. The skill set from the loyal collection of workers is vast. Plumbers, welders, electrical contractors, engineers, builders, garbo’s, you name it, we seem to have most professions covered.

The jobs tasked by Ron are also varied. Some gravitate naturally to the larger machinery and some are happy and more comfortable to jump on the end of a rake or shovel.

One volunteer recently found himself sitting at the controls of the tractor, a highly prestigious role for one of Ron’s Army. Doing some work close to the hut near the 10th tee Dale ‘Daredevil’ Evans somehow managed to get the tractor stuck placing the hut at real risk. Going forward was not an option and moving backwards only saw the wheels spin and dig deeper into the bank. Luckily Norm Power was on hand to tow an embarrassed Dale to safety but not before Greg Edwards could record the action on his phone. It might be time for Dale to return to the rake or shovel?

It is nice to have mates.
