A Double Duck

Posted on: 15 July

Golfers often talk about Birdies, Eagles and even Albatross’s but very few will get a Double Duck. Phil Tsamados is the exception. Apparently according to his friend Ian Mountjoy, when Phil was playing the ninth hole he hit his drive off the heel of his club. The ball rocketed off the tee but only gained a couple of centimetres in height. Unfortunately before his ball had travelled a handful of metres it collided with a duck. Feathers exploded into the air and although the duck was looking groggy it had survived the impact.

Feeling sad about possibly injuring the wildlife, Phil gently pick up the duck and placed it tenderly to the left hand side of the tee (adjacent to the ladie’s markers). Despite making a thorough search, his ball couldn’t be found. Phil teed up his third shot and launched into another drive. This drive was almost identical to his first but it was pulled to the left. Once again it collided with the same duck!  This time according to Ian, unfortunately there were no survivors.

It is nice to have mates.
