Lucky it wasn’t a total fire ban!

Anyone playing with Ian Mountjoy recently would have noticed his flash new golf scooter. Clearly Ian is like most males who when receiving a new toy spend little to no time reading the Instruction Manual. How difficult could it be to work out how to go forward , back and stop?

Ian, a “clever man”, easily mastered this. The scooter being required to carry his bag as well as Ian himself needs significantly more power than the remote control buggy of fellow Tobin Brother and (Albatross holder) Phil Tsamados. To provide the extra power two batteries are required.

On a recent round Ian was standing on the first tee waiting to tee off. The tee times were a little behind schedule and there stood Ian without his new toy. A casual comment made about the possible cause of the delay was quickly answered by members of Ian’s group.  Apparently Ian had crossed the terminals of the two batteries causing a huge electrical spark which in turn had set fire to the grass under his buggy. His new scooter was damaged and his golf shoes blackened! Of course this instigated a round of hysterical laughter from all those who witnessed the event.

It is nice to have mates.
