Local Rule for Tree Roots in Fairway.

Posted on: 16 May

Hi Members

The Golf Operations Committee have introduced a new local rule as there are a couple of holes that we believe have some tree roots in the fairways. Please see below for local rule F9

If a players ball on the FAIRWAY has interference from an exposed tree root , then the tree root is to be treated as Ground Under Repair and relief is available under rule 16 1b. But relief is not allowed if the tree root only interferes with the players STANCE”.

Please note that this is only on the fairway, for any tree roots on any other part of the course, the following applies –

1. Play it as it lies (You might just want to chip the ball out rather than try to hit it 200 metres).

2. Take a drop under penalty of one stroke.

Best Regards
