Work on Tees

Posted on: 21 July

Hi Members

You will notice in the coming months work being done on various tee boxes around the course.

It is recommended that tee areas on each hole should be 100sq feet per 1,000 rounds.

Last year the course had over 25,000 booked green fee and competition rounds. After reviewing the course, it was decided that there was scope to introduce some new tees along with extending the area of others to reduce wear and tear in the future as more rounds are played.

Along with this, it gives the opportunity to have a greater variance between Blue, White and Red tees as well as change the way some of the holes are played.

The team have reconstructed the 3rd tee and have built a new tee box on the 17th. With this work, the 3rd hole will have 350m2 of tee area, and the 17th will have 250m2 of tee area, with room to widen the back of that tee as well. These will come into play sometime in Spring once the roots have had the opportunity to take hold. Please do not hit off any of the new areas.

Lee and the team have a plan that will run over a number of years to rebuild current tees and construct new tees to help future proof the course.

Best Regards
