Women’s Golf News 3-2-24

Posted on: 5 February

Hello everyone,

A mild day on the course on Wednesday. We played with patches of sun breaking through.

The course was again in perfect condition.

No sign of the solitary swan, but another rare bird was sighted, Emma Brown ex secretary was back on the course after her employment has kept her from playing on Wednesdays. Welcome back Emma.

Our Co Captains reinstated an Opening Day for us, and 44 players stepped up to the challenge in the 18-hole Canadian Foursomes.

Strokes were played until the ball was holed. Tales of success and disasters were shared at lunch ! News of Christmas and family holiday adventures here and interstate were shared, and some commented now that school was back they were heading off.

We welcomed newer Monday Funday members who gamely tested themselves against the course, playing in the foursomes competition, or playing a social 9 holes.

Thanks to the club for providing trays of sandwiches for every table.

The Committee is tidying up the ladies locker room ahead of the Bowl on Feb 19. We have found a buggy battery. Is it yours ?

We are also culling the books to a more manageable size. If you want to grab a book or two, now is the time.
