Well, I was definitely way too quick to proclaim that warm sunny and fine summer golf was back last week.
What did we have on Wednesday this week rain, pouring rain !

This is set up so members can book one, two, or all three of these events. (Check the dates below).
For the Royal Women’s Hospital and the Doris Chambers there is a field to put in your partner name (if you have one). This is not a compulsory field and partners may be added later.
Costs:
Silver Spoon $ 8 per person,
Doris Chambers $ 6 per person
Royal Women’s Hospital $ 6 per person.
Nancy and Sharon will be able to assist after golf on Wednesdays for those of you who are new to TryBooking.
Bookings will close on 6th Feb, the day before the next round of the Silver Spoon.

Golf Australia – Victoria Women’s State Events
2024 Silver Spoon
18-Hole Stableford
This is a Club qualifying event. Gisborne Golf Club will hold four qualifying rounds. The winner of each round will play off, with the winner to play in the State Final.
NB: You do not have to play in all four events.

State Final: Monday 18 November 2024 (Venue & Time TBC)
Entry Fee: $8.00 Per Player (incl GST)
2024 Royal Women’s Hospital
18-Hole 4BBB Stableford
This is a Club Qualifying event. It is a State-wide competition that raises funds to purchase new equipment and to train specialist doctors in urogynaecology, for the Uro-gynae unit at the RWH.
This is a Club-based virtual event. Statewide entries close 1 November 2024.
Gisborne Golf Club Qualifying round: Wednesday 24 April 2024
Entry Fee: $12.00 donation per pair ($6.00 donation per player)
NB: This is a pairs event, and if you enter your playing partner must also have paid to enter.
2024 Doris Chambers Cup
18-Hole Foursomes Stableford, GA Handicap Limit 45.4 at date of entry
This is a Club Qualifying event. The winning pair will qualify to play in the State final.
Gisborne Golf Club Qualifying round: Wednesday 15 May 2024.
State Final: Friday 18 October 2024
Entry Fee: $12.00 Per Pair ($6.00 Per Player)

Co Captains Sharon and Nancy are reinstating an Opening Day with a round of Canadian Foursomes. (See below for an explanation).

- Saturday February 3 Weekend Medal and the rescheduled 2023 Medal of Medallist Final
- Wednesday February 7, 2024, Wednesday Monthly Medal and 2023 Wednesday Medal of Medallist Final.
The 2024 Wednesday Opening Day is Canadian Foursomes. Teams of 2.
Both partners tee off. You pick the best ball from the tee off, and then take alternate shots until the ball is holed.

Friday February 2. Annual Charity Golf Day in support of the Rotary Club of Gisborne.
This is a terrific fun event for a very worthy cause.

Gisborne Womens Challenge Bowl Monday 19 February 2024
Please remember to forward the 2024 Bowl Invitation (sent to you last week), to your golf friends at other clubs.
Our members traditionally provide homemade slices, tarts, and cakes for dessert. Our desserts are famous!
We will have a sign-up sheet for dessert slices in the locker room in late Jan.
