Update Local Rule – Embedded Stones

Posted on: 18 September

Hi Members

There has been an update to the local rule around embedded stones, please see below.

Local Rule Clarification: Embedded stones

We are updating the wording to this local rule in order to strengthen its intention and understanding. The new local rule will read (under ground under repair/abnormal course conditions)

“SOLIDLY EMBEDDED STONES/ROCKS that interfere with the players stroke or swing are to be treated as abnormal course condition.”

This means that loose stones and embedded stones that can easily be removed (with a tee) are NOT abnormal course conditions .. they are loose impediments and are to be treated as such.

It is incumbent on players markers to ensure that ALL rules are followed correctly in competition play as this protects the rest of the field from someone getting an unfair advantage.

Note . All our local rules can be found on the Miscore app.

Best Regards

Golf Operations Committee.
