Roadmap to re-opening The Gisborne Golf Club

Posted on: 20 September

Members – Here is our interpretation of the roadmap as it applies to the Golf Club.  Bottom line – not much joy until the 5th of November!  A new syllabus is being worked on as we speak and we plan to release these changes next week when we get some more clarification from the Government.  Overall the message that that is clear is; Two key reasons to get vaccinated are to protect ourselves and to protect those around us.  So if you can – like the Nike slogan – Just do it.

Current situation:

  • Metro members unable to attend
  • No golf competitions
  • Masks indoor and outdoors
  • Hospitality – Indoors 10; Outdoors 20

When 70% of 16+ fully vaccinated on about 26th October

  • Hospitality – Fully vaccinated only – Indoors 30; Outdoors 100 subject to density quotient of 1 per 2 square metres (DQ2). Need to calculate our cap (about 70 under eaves and on deck)

When 80% of 16+ fully vaccinated on about 5th November

  • Metro members can return.
  • Golf competition can resume
  • Masks not required out-doors
  • Hospitality – Fully vaccinated only; Indoors 74 (DQ4 sq metres applies); Outdoors 500 subject to DQ2 – need to calculate our cap (about 70 under eaves and on deck?)

When 80% of 12+ fully vaccinated on about 19th November

  • Refers to Phase D of the national plan, but no specifics on whether the density quotients for hospitality are removed.

Stay safe and looking forward to getting you back,

Jacqui
