Notice to Members Re Contact Details on the Members Directory

Hi Members

Historically, the Members Directory on our website provided access to the telephone numbers of members, unless they requested privacy. Email addresses were generally only used by the Club in the course of day-to-day business (e.g. members’ newsletters). MiClub (the administrator of the directory) altered these settings in a recent update, which unexpectedly resulted in all details being unavailable.

 

Recognising the benefits of having access to both telephone and email details, the club has been in discussion with MiClub for some weeks about making necessary adjustments to our software program, to restore telephone details and make emails available from the Members Directory.

 

Having access to these contact details will provide facility for many purposes, not only to arrange a game of golf (or advise of unavailability), or perhaps to agree a date for a match, communicate details of pennant matches, caddy recruitment or simply to arrange a meal at The View.

 

It is anticipated that some members will prefer not to make their contact details available, either in part or in total. For those members, there are two options.

1. To make the changes yourself via the Members Portal on the website and follow the steps provided below:

a. Login to the Members Portal

b. Go to “My Information”

c. Click on the “Update” button under “My Details”.

d. Click on “Contact Details” at the top of the screen.

e. Click on the “Telephone & Email” tab.

f. Tick the “Private” box next to the information you wish to make private.

2. To ask the office to mark their Member Directory entry as private so no contact details are available to others

 

Please remember that these details are made available to assist members in facilitating golf and related events. Members are requested not to abuse this privilege.
