Irrigation Project/Notice Of Special General Meeting to be held 20/09/23

Posted on: 8 September

A working party was formed earlier this year to move forward with the replacement of the irrigation system. The project team members are Alastair Boustead, Peter Buttigieg, Lee Govan, Tim Scoble, Matt Dean, Barry Aarons, Roberta Henry, David Plunkett and Brett Campbell.

The team has undertaken extensive work to finalise the design; conduct a tender to select the sprinkler manufacturer and a supplier to install the new system; and determine the affordability of this project. The attached document here is a summary of the information and expert advice sought and received by the Irrigation Project team to date.

The team recommend proceeding with the replacement of the irrigation system:

Total project cost $1.5m

Rainbird to supply the sprinklers and central control system

  • Think Water Melbourne to complete the works
  • Installation will commence after the 2023/24 summer watering season – i.e. in  March/April 2024
  • Installation will take 4 – 5 months
  • The impact on golf during this period will be to close one or two holes at any one time. Temporary holes will be created on one or more par 5 hole(s).
  • A loan will be taken out to fund the project
  • An increase to the CIC (from $75 to about $250 per year) will be sought at the next  AGM to cover the loan repayments

A special General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 20th September at 7:30pm to further inform members on this project and seek approval to take out a loan to fund the project. Click here for the notice of the Special General Meeting .
