Golf Victoria Men’s Pennant – Results and Helpers Required

Round 1 of the 2019 Season kicked off on Sunday Feb 24th at Riversdale GC against Sandhurst. Gisborne’s team consisted of Garth George, Phil Clough, Jason Lock, Steve Duic, Brendan Larkins, Matt Priest and Craig White.
In hot conditions, the team went down 3 to 4 against a strong Sandhurst, four of their players having handicaps between +1 and +4. Our winners were Jason Lock, Steve Duic & Matt Priest.
Round 2 at The Heritage last Sunday we were up against Woodlands – also a very strong opponent. Steve Veloso came into the side for his very first pennant match. In an excellent debut, Steve won his match on the 21st hole, finishing under par for the day. Unfortunately we had no other winners and went down 1 to 6.
Pennant resumes on Sunday March 17 at Gisborne GC. We’d love to see plenty of Members come out and support our team who play The Heritage at 11:15.
We will also need:
- volunteers throughout the day for various duties, and
- caddies for a number of players.
