I played at Gisborne Golf Club in the 2005 Marpeon Pro Am and had a great time. It was extremely well run and the course was very well presented. The fairways were excellent and the greens were the fastest and smoothest I had putted on for a long time. I would like to thank Gisborne Golf Club for the manner in which the Country Superintendent Golf Day was organised on 25th November, 2008. I honestly have not played a course with better presentation and condition in both Metropolitan and outer country golf courses that I can remember. It is a credit to the Ground staff and Management. The comments I heard from other Superintendents to the fairway grass coverage is something I wish the Club could have witnessed.

The golf day is an annual event and very important to the Municipal Workers Association. The day allows us to have a social networking day for our local government members and suppliers to the industry to enjoy.
I would like to start by congratulating your grounds staff as the course was presented in magnificent condition. The comments relating to how good the greens were as compared to any of the other highly named golf courses is a testament to the condition the course was in.
The catering was excellent starting with breakfast, and to walk off the course with lunch ready for you to sit down, was very well timed and managed. The quality of the meals was exceptional. The set up of the dining room was very professional and made everyone feel important, which also added to the success of the day.
Thank you to all involved for your management and support of the day, the facilities, staff attitude and all of the above provided us with an exceptional day and promoted the MWOA at the professional level we continually aspire to achieve.
